A memorial stone is erected here in memory of Mr. G.H. Damant who was a plitical officer of the Naga Hills.Mr. Damant was shot dead by Naga villagers on 13th October 1879.Later, on 22nd November 1879, a British officer Major Cook was dead by Naga villagers during an assult.

A memorial stone is also erected in memory of Major Cook.Another memorial stone is also erected here for a native officer Subedar Nurbir Sahi, a Subedar Major of 44 Sylhet Light Infantry,the 8th Gorkha Rifles. He died here during an assult on 22nd November 1897.
